WON'T READ DISCS (FOUND FLEX POORLY SOLDERED TO SLED MOTOR) Flex cable coming from optic was not properly soldered fromfactory causing intermittent failure of optic to return to its inner mostpostion (HOME). This caused the symptom described as unit will loaddisc, but no spin, no play, no focus, intermittent.

NO LEFT CHANNEL (REPLACE JACK BOARD, P/N 1-643-781-11) Unit had no left channel audio. Found that PCB trace betweenCNJ801 pin 12 and CN801 pin 9 open. It appears that the trace was notetched correctly at the factory.

UNIT JAMS, DISCS NOT RETURNED FULLY TO MAG. (REPLACE SW655) Unit would load disc, but then when you went to change disc(for example: from 1 to 5) the slider assembly would not return previousdisc all the way in to magazine. Thus, when the elevator went up or down,the disc would hang up on the elevator assembly.

SKIPPING WHEN VEHICLE MAKES TURNS (REPLACE OMD CHASSIS ASSY) The CD player would skip only when the car would go aroundturns. The problem is caused by wobbling of the spindle motor.
