UNIT WOULD GO FROM BRIGHT CAM VIDEO TO SYNC LEVEL INTERMITTE I found pins 38 to 44 of IC 501 covered with hot glue from a220 nfd cap soldered across pins 1 and 2 of CN904. I removed hot glue andfound carbon residue so I removed the carbon residue.

INTERMITTENT TAKE UP EATS TAPES The torque tape would rise and fall with take-up and would eatthe tape. Under close observation with the take-up reel removed, I foundthe reel shaft was bent.

NEW VIDEO HEAD CAUSED PICTURE TO JUMP/PERFORM SW POS ADJ I replaced the head picture which was jumping only on selfrecord. I loaded the line A bad video head. I checked the path withWR51NP and it was on, however, I found RF switching pulse too far away by15 microseconds.

NO COLOR IN CAMERA MODE /L-401, VC-82 No chroma from VC-82 board. Check signal at IC-401 pin 16,and signal was ok. Checked pin 18, no signal. Checked each side ofL-401, no signal on one side. L-401 checked open.

NO CAMERA Y/SYNC See page 28 of block diagram (Supplement No. 1) pin 28 ofIC-201 had ok Y signal. Pin 30 had noise (page 76 S/M) and pin 5 IC-205had noise and same type of video signal. Found C-246 to have bad solderconnection but adheared to board by flux.

NO RECORD - PLAYBACK IS OK Record Y RF was missing at the head amp. Y RF out was presenton pin 43 of IC-201 (Y process). Signal was not at the output of IC-101pin 2. Checked B+ at IC and it was missing. B+ also missing on transis-tors Q-115, Q-117 and Q-118.
