Symmetric Power Supplies

This simple ±12V or ±15V symmetric power supply is ideal for small electronics projects and low-power circuits.

It uses 78XX and 79XX series voltage regulators, capable of delivering up to 1A with proper heatsinking. The design also includes 1N4001 diodes for rectification and 1000µF capacitors for smoothing the DC output.

Tip: Always use adequate heatsinks for the 78XX/79XX ICs to prevent thermal shutdown, and ensure the capacitors are rated above the maximum voltage.
